I just got word from an inside source that Wycliffe Associates is looking for a new CEO, which means that Bruce Smith is being replaced. As I was going to share this with you today, a new blog came out from MinistryWatch.com about multiple departures at Wycliffe Associates. "Dan Kramer, another recent departure, spent 11 years at Wycliffe Associates as Director of Education Services and then Executive Director of Strategic Programs. He left to become the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Our Daily Bread. Kramer’s departure was significant because he helped create the controversial MAST program at Wycliffe Associates. MAST has been a key part of the fundraising efforts of Wycliffe Associates in recent years. Wycliffe Associates said when it “first piloted a MAST program in 2014, a team of 13 translators working 12-hour days drafted 48 percent of the New Testament in two weeks. I have reason to believe that this blog is making an impact. Now is the Time. Keep getting the news out there so we can make a difference!

Are you attracted to the organization because it has a charismatic leader who carries an undue influence? When Wycliffe Associates became a Bible translation organization in 2016, there were already 103 other translation organizations in existence. [i] Did the world really need Bible translation organization number 104, especially when the price to be paid was losing the invaluable support WA had given to Bible translators for half a century? No, that price is simply too high. Wycliffe Associates obviously has a good heart and has many employees and volunteers who care for the Bibleless people of the world.
